The Water Quality Assn. (WQA) launched a new campaign—Go for the Gold—to help product manufacturers and parties interested in water purification products understand the process for obtaining WQA's Gold Seal Product Certification program. WQA is offering a free e-book, Go for the Gold, to ensure a simple process.

“Only products that pass the testing requirements of industry standards, pass annual manufacturing facility audits, and comply with WQA's Certification Schemes can earn and display the Gold Seal on their packaging,” said WQA Board President Don McGhee. “While the process is thorough, WQA stands ready to help walk anyone through the certification process.”

WQA’s Gold Seal Product Certification program ensures that a product is constructed or formulated from safe materials, the claims listed on the packaging are backed by test data, and the product will hold up under normal usage conditions.

“WQA certification provides end users, retailers and regulators the benefit of knowing that an accredited third party has evaluated not only a product’s capability of passing rigorous testing according to industry standards, but that the process in which certified products are made is reproducible,” McGhee said. “This process allows users the peace of mind that a company is continuously monitored and can only maintain certification if [its] manufacturing process remains consistent.”
